As far back as kelly can remember she made a habit of sitting in living rooms listening to her friends play their multitude of instruments. Never quite having the technical flare to play an instrument, kelly often only participated through encouragement. Recently though the idea of encouraging her friends brought her to one realization: fashion + music = encouragement in the best way possible, stylish promotion!
So since we love nothing more than great music and new fashion, benny & kelly presents fabric & beats, a dedication to those friends we have who love the music more than anything else!

So as we are sure you heard, we threw our first craft party this sunday and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! We had a great turn out, with some really awesome one of a kind tees to prove it.
We offered our guests two really awesome crafting opportunities-making a stenciled/fringe beaded bandana or to stencil a tee or sweater of your choice (we will be posting tutorials on the projects we offered shortly...) It was honestly great to see people really enjoying the stencils! We even heard people saying how they want to go home and cut their own stencils!! That is exactly the reaction we were hoping for!! We want to show people that anyone can craft and make a brilliantly beautiful one of kind fashion!
kelly & our cattail bandana she made!

You know we are all about anything evolving gluing things to one another. So when we stumbled across this here crafty art show that looked more than promising, needless to say we were stoked!
Here is what the gallery had to say about the event...
"For May BLVD Gallery presents “Combine, A group show of Cut Paper, Collage, and Assemblage”. The title of this show “Combine” is a reference to Robert Rauschenbergs term for the groundbreaking assemblage work that he made starting in the 1950’s. This work as well as the amazing collages of artists like Romare Bearden, Paul Horiuchi, and a multitude of others have paved the way for the current generation of artists who are utilizing collage and assemblage in their work. Whether through the perspective of design or the traditional art world “Combine” takes a look at a group of artists that have incorporated collage in their work as a way to further explore the boundaries of what they are capable of outside of the tradition artistic media." When: May 9th thru June 7th Artist Reception May 9th 6 - 10pm Where: BLVD Gallery 2316 2nd ave seattle wa, 98121 www.blvdart.com Cost: FREE
